GAME OF THRONES

DRAGONS EGG

COST TO BUILD : APPROX £15

TIME TO BUILD : 2 WEEKS

MATERIALS USED :

  • X3 PLASTIC BAGS

  • GREEN, WHITE, RED ACRYLIC PAINTS

  • SUPER GLUE

  • SCISSORS

  • DUCT TAPE

  • NEWSPAPER

  • FOAM SHEETS

  • TISSUE PAPER

I started by filling up 3 plastic bags with newspaper then I then tied them shut before wrapping each one in duct tape until they were in the shape of the dragons eggs. I then cut out approx 650 scales from sheets of foam and then started layering them up one by one next to each other going around and around the eggs gluing them into place one by one until a few hours later the over all effect of the dragons egg was created.

Then I painted each one to match the colours of the eggs in the show and created a rough edge to the bottom areas of each egg with tissue paper and more paint.

LONGCLAW SWORD

COST TO BUILD : APPROX £15

TIME TO BUILD : 2 WEEKS

MATERIALS USED :

  • PLANK OF LAMINATE WOOD FLOORING

  • BLACK, WHITE, RED ACRYLIC PAINTS

  • METALLIC SPRAY PAINT

  • X2 STEEL KNIFES

  • SILICON SEALENT

  • SAND PAPER

I started by researching the size of the sword then drawing a template of the blade and handle into a spare piece of laminate flooring to get all measurements correct then I cut it out. TO give the handle are more strength to hold the weight of the blade i glued 2 steel knifes either side of the handle crossing onto the blade area to ensure that it wold not snap once lifted. i then used wall filler on each side of the sword blade to create the shape needed and silicone on the handle area to create the wolfs head and handle details carving them out with a knife ready to be painted. once i painted the wolf head on the handle and the handle itself i then taped them all up started sanding the blade area and covered it with metallic spray paint to give the final blade effect.
